BYU GEO

Global Engineering Outreach (GEO) at Brigham Young University (BYU) provides students the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines on global projects with community members around the world. Projects have been implemented in Tonga, Ghana, Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia and on the Navajo Nation Reservation.

• GEO Alliance is the main entity that involves students and faculty members across the BYU campus to design, test, and implement projects with key partners. Students and faculty members from more than 12 departments on the BYU campus are involved.
• GEO Class provides a credit-based classroom experience for engineering students as they contribute to the projects of the GEO Alliance.
• GEO Club is the campus venue open to all students interested in the GEO experience, with a specific opportunity to participate in projects on the Navajo Nation.

GEO Class Application.

The GEO 2026-27 application is now closed. The GEO 2027-28 class application will open in Fall Semester 2026. Interviews will be held in Winter Semester 2027 for the GEO 2027-28 class.
