Bolivia (2025-): Pediatric Foot

DESCRIPTION

This project is in collaboration with FUNPROBO prosthetic clinic in La Paz, Bolivia. Children grow quickly, so they need new prosthetics more frequently than the adults who visit the clinic. The clinic primarily makes their own prosthetic feet for kids out of wood and foam. This project involves designing a foot that can be 3D printed for kids. Significant testing is being conducted on the strength of the 3D design.

IMPLEMENTATION

This is a relatively new project. We are in the process of securing an IRB to test the prosthetic foot on patients. In the interim, we are receiving feedback from the clinic on the design.
